Origen y estructuración emergente de la interioridad

 

Este artículo relaciona una teoría de la interioridad surgida de la concepción dramatística de la persona expuesta por Goffman, con las teorías foucaultianas y deleuzianas de la subjetividad, remontándose también a la inspiración nietzscheana originaria sobre la génesis de la interioridad a partir de la represión, formulada en 'La genealogía de la moral'. La noción postestructuralista de los 'pliegues del sujeto', procedente de Deleuze y Foucault, y en concreto tal como es formulada por Nikolas Rose, proporciona un marco teórico complementario que arroja luz adicional sobre el dramatismo de Goffman, y es a su vez esclarecida por este enfoque interaccionista.

 English Abstract:  The Origin and Emergent Structure of Interiority 

This paper relates a theory of interiority derived from Erving Goffman's dramatistic conception of the self with the Deleuzian and Focuauldian constructivist theories of the self, going also back to Nietzsche's original inspiration of the genesis of interiority through repression formulated in 'The Genealogy of Morals'. The post-structuralist notion of the 'folds of the self', coming from Deleuze and Foucault, in particular as formulated by Nikolas Rose, provides a complementary theoretical framework which throws additional light on Goffman's dramatism and is, in its turn, illuminated by this interactional approach.

Explicamos la concepción de Kenneth Burke sobre el papel del lenguaje en la filosofía, y de modo más general en el análisis y comunicación de la experiencia; más en concreto con ocasión de los comentarios que Burke hace sobre la tesis de T. S. Eliot sobre Bradley. Tanto la perspectiva de Burke como la de Eliot se contemplan en su parentesco con los planteamientos fundamentales de la hermenéutica fenomenológica continental:

From Experience to Language

This paper explains Kenneth Burke's conception of the role of language in philosophy, and more generally in the analysis and communication of experience, especially by way of his comments on T. S. Eliot's thesis on Bradley. Both Burke's and Eliot's views are seen in their kinship with the central tenets of continental phenomenological hermeneutics.

La gestión de la realidad mediante la atención: Como una burbuja

Partiendo de un madrigal de William Drummond of Hawthornden, comentamos el papel estructurador que desempeñan en la generación y gestión de la realidad los marcos interaccionales de referencia definidos por Goffman, en tanto que instrumentos de gestión de la atención colectiva. Es la capacidad de la mente humana para combinar estos marcos, limitar su atención a ellos, e insertarlos unos dentro de otros, lo que le da a la realidad humana su peculiar flexibilidad, multiplicidad y evanescencia.

Reality-Management Through Attention: Like a Bubble

Starting from a madrigal by William Drummond of Hawthornden, this paper examines the structuring role of interactional frames of reference (as theorized by Goffman) in the generation and management of reality, insofar as they are the instruments for the management of shared attention. It is the human mind's ability to combine these frames, to limit its attention to their bounds, and to embed them within another, which provides human reality with its peculiar flexibility, multiplicity, and evanescence.

La emergencia del símbolo

 

Las teorías evolucionistas de Terrence Deacon, Mark Turner y Richard van Oort sobre la emergencia del simbolismo sobre la base de la comunicación animal pueden complementarse con un mayor énfasis sobre los procesos reflexivos del cerebro y sobre la auto-interacción, fenómenos que a su vez se hallan en relación dialéctica con la interiorización de la interacción social. Las estructuras simbólicas elementales usadas en la auto-interacción devienen piezas de construcción para un simbolismo social complejo, que a su vez da lugar a la interiorización de interacciones más complejas.

The Emergence of the Symbol

Terrence Deacon's, Mark Turner's and Richard van Oort's evolutionary theories regarding the emergence of symbolism on the basis of animal communication can be supplemented with a stonger emphasis on reflexive processes on the brain and on self-interaction, phenomena which are in turn dialectically related to the internalization of social interaction. Elementary symbolic structures used in self-interaction become building blocks for complex social symbolism, which gives rise to the interiorization of more complex interactions.

Uno de los primeros acercamientos a la neurología de la interacción internalizada y la emergencia del simbolismo que va asociada a esa internalización se encuentra en el artículo de George Herbert Mead "La génesis de la identidad personal y el control social" (1925), parcialmente incluido en su libro póstumo La Filosofía del Presente.
